چکیده
Abstract Background The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in clinical outcomes, if any, between intraoperative acute correction and postoperative gradual for tibial shaft fractures with multiplanar posttraumatic deformities using hexapod external fixator. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 58 consecutive patients treated by fixator at our institution from January 2015 April 2019. Twenty-three (Group I) underwent correction, October 2016. Starting November 2016, other 35 II) all correction. demographic data, operation duration, original residual before after fixation time were collected analyzed. outcomes evaluated Johner-Wruhs criteria last visit. Results All achieved complete bone union a mean 28.7 ± 4.6 weeks (range 21 37 weeks) Group I 27.9 4.8 19 38 II ( P > 0.05). duration (88.9 7.7 min) longer than that (61.9 8.4 min), there statistically significant difference < There no two groups rate complication similar groups. statistical significance data Conclusions is Postoperative may shorten room decrease potential risk.

Correction of rigid equinovarus deformity using a multiplanar external fixator.
BACKGROUND The rigid equinovarus foot deformity is a challenging condition treated by the orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon. Rapid surgical correction of the deformity may lead to skin and neurologic complications. Gradual correction of the deformity with a multiplanar external fixator may decrease these complications. The purpose of this study was to present the results of a group of patients...

OBJECTIVES This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of the Ilizarov external fixator for the correction of complex foot deformities. PATIENTS AND METHODS Between January 2000 and September 2005, 29 feet of 25 patients (18 males, 7 females; mean age 13.7 years; range 5 to 24 years) who were applied Ilizarov external fixators due to complex foot deformities in our clinic were prospectively anal...
متن کاملThe silhouette technique: improving post-operative radiographs for planning of correction with a hexapod external fixator
Correction of deformity of a bone through use of a hexapod external fixator requires clear definition of the relationship between the bone and the frame. Achieving adequate orthogonal calibrated radiographs for this aim, with minimum X-ray exposure, can prove a challenge in the radiography suite. We describe a simple technique for obtaining adequate imaging, without the use of additional equipm...

Objective: To evaluate the incidence of union, nonunion, deep infection and factors influencing the time of bone healing in the treatment of open tibial shaft fractures Gustilo and Anderson types I and II initially treated with a non penetrating external fixator (Pinless®) followed by an unreamed intramedullary locked nail (UTN®). Methods: It is a prospective study of 39 open tibial shaft fract...
